KILLED ON DUTY FROM ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING

Conrad Gibson, a patrolman of he 20th and Federal Street station, died yesterday morning in the Polyclinic Hospital from a bullet wound received in an accidental discharge of his pistol. On Saturday night Gibson took Lillian Frielleo eleven years old to Point Breeze Avenue near Reed Street to the St. Agnes Hospital after an automobile had run her down. It was later discovered she was injured slightly, Officer Gibson, returned to the station house in the same machine that hit the girl, after he had placed the driver, David Simpson under arrest.
As he stepped out of the automobile his pistol fell to the pavement and discharged the bullet entered the policeman’s chest and he was hurried to the same hospital, where he later died.
